Going for a swim in Bass Pro Shops

Louisiana man risks arrest in order to please TikTok followers.

It's hot in Louisiana right now but that doesn't excuse 26-year-old Kevin Wise, who jumped into the indoor aquarium at a Bass Pro Shop in Bossier City. Wise told news crews that he was following through on a promise he made on the social media platform TikTok. He posted to followers that if he received 2,000 hits, he'd take the dive.

“I said that if I got 2,000 likes I would jump in the tank,” Wise told WBRZ TV of Baton Rouge. “I got way more than that and didn’t want to be a liar.”

Shoppers looked up after hearing a splash to find Wise swimming in the tank. Once he sidestroked across the aquarium, he emerged and ran out of the store.

An onlooker shot a video and posted it to TikTok where it's been garnering lots of views. We spotted one on YouTube.

At first, Bass Pro Shop was hesitant to press charges but when they were forced to clean out the 13,000-gallon aquarium, they changed their minds. Bossier City Police charged Wise with simple criminal damage to property after the company filed a complaint, according to WWL of New Orleans.
